Are you looking for a communication tool for your business that allows instant messaging and collaboration? If your company uses Microsoft® Exchange Server and Microsoft Outlook®, Microsoft Lync® is perfect for your company and your system is already setup to use it perfectly.
Microsoft Lync was introduced back in January of 2011 as a replacement for Microsoft Office Communicator. In December, Microsoft added apps for Windows phone, Android and iOS platforms, which makes it easy for businesses to communicate with their employees, even when they’ve stepped away from their computer.
Some of the best features of Microsoft Lync include the ability to communicate anywhere the user has network connectivity. This means that if a user is on their phone and they aren’t hooked up to a WiFi network, they are still able to access the features of Lync.
Lync is available on a lot of different platforms, it works on Window PCs, as well as Windows Phone, iOS and Android smartphones, as mentioned earlier. Lync is also available in web browsers so Mac users can join in, too. Lync is able to communicate using voice and video calls, Lync Meetings, presence and instant messaging, all from the same application. This means you don’t need to switch devices or even use multiple devices to communicate from one person to the next.
Lync uses Skype, so it connects with outside platforms, as well. This is crucial for businesses as Skype is the most well-known video conferencing platform out there. You’re able to video conference with up to five different people at once.
In addition, Lync allows you to take notes in digital meetings with OneNote.
Recently. Lync has allowed users to integrate their systems with the award-winning Toshiba Strata CIX and IPedge voice over IP business telephone systems. This takes the Lync platform to a different level as it allows users to manage, use and integrate their Toshiba communication systems with their other business applications.
With this system, you can use your Lync contact list to make calls and even make a call into a teleconference or easily transfer calls.
